In one of Abbotsford’s oldest neighbourhoods lies The Rail District: a master-planned community of over 600 homes and boutique retail spaces in the heart of Downtown Abby. A place to live and thrive, this thoughtfully designed neighbourhood is made with innovation in mind. With homes to suit every lifestyle, from first-time home buyers to growing families and retired professionals, everyone has a place in The Rail District.
We at Infinity Properties can’t wait to unveil a community built around rich local history and a close-knit collection of businesses, restaurants, and cultural experiences. To get you oriented with what living at The Rail District will be like, here is how you can spend a day at this master planned community…
Get Your Morning Fix
Waking up in The Rail District, it’s only steps to an array of options for a quick caffeine boost. Or, a quick bike ride downtown on The Rail Trail! We recommend stopping by Oldhand Coffee, Duft & Co., or Traceybakes Bakery Café. All offering delightful drinks, home baked goods, and comforting vibes that’ll keep you coming back for more. Need something to curb that sweet tooth? Have an ooey gooey cinnamon-filled experience at SinAmen Bun Co.
A Place to Peruse
Filled with winding streets, this is a place to park your bike and peruse by foot. Very pedestrian-friendly, you can absorb the rich history of the streets you’re walking along by reading the plaques placed on the exteriors of buildings.
As you continue your stroll through Historic Downtown, you can pop into the quaint boutiques and stores. Many of which are locally owned and run, featuring handmade goods crafted right here in Canada. Some of our favourite places to shop include Spruce Collective, Montrose & George General Store, and Corby’s Antiques & Collectibles. However, there are so many great shops to check out, and with new businesses opening all the time, we are continuously adding to our list.
A Place to Explore & Be Fit
You’re caffeinated, and now it is time to sweat. A quick drive can get you to the Abby Grind: a steep hike that gains approximately 320 meters over 2km of uphill, scenic bliss. Similar to the Grouse Grind but a little less intimidating, this popular hiking trail will give you a workout and a photo-op all in one.
If the rain has derailed your morning hike, fear not. There is still plenty opportunity for you to have an energizing experience.
A Place for Local Goods
You’ve gotten in your daily dose of exercise, and now it’s time for a real meal. When it is time to sit down and really dig into a meal, Downtown Abbotsford is home to many great restaurants. One of which is Ann Marie’s Café: a retro diner that serves comforting, familiar meals like eggs benny, burgers, and sandwiches. Nearby the options are endless, including Bow & Stern, Brgr Brgr and Restaurant 62. Maybe you’re more of a post-hike brew kind of person, so Fieldhouse Brewing may become your favourite pitstop in the neighbourhood.
If you’re feeling ambitious, you can pick up local foodstuffs at Lepp’s Daily Market. Kitchens at The Rail District’s homes are customizable with your choice of black or stainless-steel appliances, and a choice of three backsplashes. They always include a gas range, chimney style range hood and quartz countertops, durable for your home cooking trials.
The Rail District
When you live in the Rail District, there is no shortage of variety. Every necessity, whether it be a pint at the local brewery, a nearby fitness class, a store stocked with local goods, or a community that cultivates connectivity, is all within walking distance in the Historic Downtown Abby. Come rain or shine, a day at Rail is a day well spent.
